Nap time sleep training

I’m trying to get my baby to sleep in his crib for nap times. We will continue to co sleep at night though! Has anyone tried the Ferber method for sleep training? I feel bad for even considering this, but I need my baby to start sleeping in his crib more. Don’t get me wrong, I loooove his snuggles when he’s napping but I also need to get work done and it’s hard when he has to be on me… I can use a baby wearing carrier but most times he doesn’t like that. Again, I feel absolutely horrible for even considering it but I know it’s for the best for him 😢💔

I have 3 under 2 and what worked for me for my twins was a lot back and forth. When they were sleeping l would put them down on their cribs then would wake up l would carry them to my bed once they slept they would go back to their crib or they would calm down which was around 5-16 min. They were sleeping through the night since 5 months l would say. I didn’t pressure them they fell right into a routine that worked fine for everyone.

He sleeps through the night already. I just need to get him to nap in his crib more so that way when we start transitioning to him sleeping in his crib at night, it won’t be as hard

Ferber method is usually recommended for 5-6 months. I plan on doing that, I did that with my daughter and she did great. But for now you can just continue to try the naps in the crib. I put my guy in the carrier until he’s drowsy and then lay him down. He went through a week of very bad naps, it was a phase and now it’s gotten better again. This age the naps are usually not great but all you can do is try! They don’t know how to self soothe yet so that makes the Ferber method hard at this age.

Personally, i think it's because u cosleep at night, hes used to cosleeping/contact sleeping so he will most likely struggle sleeping on his own

@Rebecca mine coslept with me until about middle of September, but napped away from me. She had no issues. Most babies don’t know the difference. They just feel the warmth. Heating pad under sheet or on top on low for about 15 min before you put baby down. Mine also knew the difference between naps and bedtime because she napped where there was natural light, and went to sleep in a dark room with the tv on. (Sleeps in the same room as us and we sleep with the tv on)
