Fitting fitness in

Hi lovelies! Just after some inspiration in how you manage to fit fitness in while juggling being a mummy? My little one is 6 months old now and I go to a couple of mummy & baby fitness classes, but this is more for the social aspect than the fitness. I always intend to go to the gym (I can sometimes take Oscar with me when it's quiet) but something quite often gets in the way. Any suggestions how you manage to make it work? TIA xx

I just make it work. Sometimes that looks like being at the gym at 5 am or sometimes it’s 11 pm but I make it a priority in my life.

Hey Becky It is hard and just all about finding what works for you! No ones time/set up is the same. I’m an online coach who actually works with a lot of mums aiming to find a routine and work it around their schedules.- happy to chat more in depth if you want to message me. ☺️ But would say. Don’t put big pressure on yourself. Schedule the time that works for you. Start small and build upon it from there

It’s going to look different to everyone as everyone’s circumstances are different but for me and my husband, training is non-negotiable so one of us will train by 6am and the other will train in the evening. It’s tiring at times but it’s worth it for our mental health x

I usually do walks with her in the baby carrier for the first half year. Recently I’ve found a local community that has workout groups specifically for moms so it’s less intimidating.

I workout at home. From 15-30 mins per day x

I do BODI workouts at home or I take my kids running with me. My youngest is 6 months and I usually entertain her during my workouts.

I've booked a class for 5.30pm on a Thursday and my husband will look after the baby during this time. It's once a week. I also do a baby mum fit class and the rest is home work outs or walking which means I have baby with me

Short Home workouts during wake windows (worked better for me once baby started crawling and more interested in toys), exercise at night/early morning when baby sleeps, I started buggy running at 6months

I joined a gym that has a creche. It’s a bit rubbish being restricted to the creche times but it’s better than nothing

My partner looks after him when I have a class booked a few days a week or I’ll go out for quick runs while he has him. It’s hard because I sacrifice doing other things but exercise is such a big part of my life I don’t mind skipping other things

Walks with the baby in a carrier. Runs with the toddler in the buggy (and baby at home with dad) that's as far as I've got so far. Trying hard to prioritise my diet, but it's stressful having a toddler and baby and I just want to eat biscuits all the time 😩 I'm looking at trying to fit a home workout in once a week soon too.

Could have written this myself. I’m trying to do small workouts at home while the baby’s asleep, just so I can relearn how to use my body again.

Ah same boat! Since introducing weaning and trying to get better nap routines, and keep up with everything it’s become bottom of the priority list. But can really tell in how I feel in myself. Just started getting back into walks but hopefully get a routine of morning workouts again soon
