Do you wait to pull in until the car in front is finished drying? Even though beginning your wash doesn't wet their car? I see two different types of people when I go to the car wash

I wait til the light or attendant tells me to move forward. If they are still drying their car, they are far enough forward that it shouldn't effect them

Where I live, the attendant usually tells us to move forward, but I don't like getting so close to the car in front of me so I try to wait a little and sometimes I get a little upset but I will not risk my car getting damaged because they put me too close to the car in front of me.

The carwash's here at the gas stations don't have an attendant. You pull in when the light turns green, but that is also as the car in front has pulled forward to dry off. I'm one of the few that seems to pull in once it says to, but notice majority wait until the car is done drying. Seems a bit pointless to just wait 🤨
