universal credit

hi! so i’m applying for universal credit as i’ve decided not to go back to work after finding out i’m pregnant again 8 months postpartum. the whole idea of universal credit seems overwhelming and i was wondering if any mamas could share their experiences or just explain to me how the process and appointments work. for context, i’m going to be putting in a joint claim. x

So if your partner makes a certain amount of money you’ll be entitled to nothing. The amount they have you earn for you to get anything is very low. if you aren’t going back to work after this baby then (if you end up getting anything) when the baby turns 2 you’ll be made to go to weekly job searcher appointments

My partner and I can earn up to 3k and get a small amount still. They'll force you back to work when the youngest is 3. There's some really good fb pages to join. Some people on there no uc like the back of their hand. If you've savings, you've got to declare it as well as anything over 6k they start to deduct. X
