Big babies!

I’ve had a growth scan today (36+2) and baby boy is measuring 6lb 14oz. They’ve mentioned I may need a third OGTT to triple check there’s no sign of gestational diabetes. I’m not worried about his size, but just curious to how big your babies were at full term after having baby measuring big on growth scans x

9lb 11oz at 41+5 x

My girl was measuring between 50th and 80th basically my whole pregnancy then suddenly at my growth scan a week or so before my due date she was measuring above the 90th 😅 I can't remember what weight she was measuring but she was born 5 days after my scan and weighed 9lbs3.4oz! I had 3 tests for GD overall too but all were negative x

My son was measuring in the 99th percentile. At my 39 week growth scan he was estimated to be 9lbs 9oz. He was born 2 days later at 10lbs 4oz. GD test was negative. I was very boarderline, but I didn’t have it.

@Yasmin omg! My baby is 4weeks old and he is barely weighing 9 pounds 😳 you’re a strong momma!!

Honestly, he’s so heavy already, I’m struggling so much! X

@Gigi he was never really a baby he was basically born a toddler 😂 I was absolutely huge by term too! x

I had my baby at 39 weeks because of GD. He was 9.2lb and a cute little pudding!! x

My first was 10 pound 4 at 40+4 normal delivery no issues. My second was 8 pound 6 at 36+7. I had to check my blood sugars for a week over Christmas to check they hadn't missed diabetes in my first pregnancy or the glucose test. Hope you find some relief water worked well for me to realise some of the tension on joints. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy bigger babies help themselves out in my experience x

With my first baby, at 38 weeks she was measuring 6lbs 15 and she was born at 40+2 at 7lbs 6 and my second baby at 36+3 she was measuring 7lbs and I gave birth to her at 37+4 and she was 7lbs 8 however there was no concerns about her size when pregnant and they told me it was normal 😂🙈x

My first born after 40 weeks was 8.7lb and coz my bmi is high had a few growth scans. Glucose has been negative. Went for scan 32 weeks weighed around 4lb then went again 36 he’s shot up to 7lb I’ve declined anymore glucose testing not much can be done really between now and birth. I think I just have big babies!!!! X

@Amy this is similar to me! At 32 weeks he was 4lb 6oz, now he’s 6lb 14oz, been negative for GD twice already. X

They have quite a large margin so could be bigger or smaller. At my 38 week scan they said around 8lb and predicted a 9lb plus baby. He was 8lb4oz born 40+4

We were in the 99th centile all the way through, they told me I'd be lucky if he was less than a stone🙃 thankfully he was only 9lb9oz's. I did have GD though so🤷🏼‍♀️

I measured small and had a 9.8 oz baby and then measured bigger than I had with my first and had a 8.9 oz baby so... I don't put any stock in these late measurements myself. Just based off my experience. I did not have GD

I had GD, my baby was 8.5lbs healthy as can be. I delivered unassisted at 40 weeks 2 days. They tried pressuring me to deliver at 37 weeks

First baby was born a premie at 34 and 2 for other reasons. He was 6lbs and 5 ounces. Never showed any signs of GD. He has sence caught up with his age vs adjusted age and usually sits in the 99th percentile on average. Some people have bigger kiddos some smaller some average. Ask any questions you might have to your team I’m sure they can get you answers and help with any medical concerns you might have when they come up. Best of luck!

My baby was 10lbs 4oz. My midwife said he was measuring big just by feeling my belly at 32 weeks but when I got a growth scan done at 34 weeks the lady said he was measuring correctly. Turned out he was actually bigger and was 10lbs lol

I was told pretty much the same as you, but when he was born (39+1) he was only 6lb 11oz!
