Over breastfeeding

Here lately my baby has been seriously teething and yesterday he started gnawing and tugging on my nipples like they’re a piece of meat. He’ll literally grab my boob with both his hands, bite down, and tear my boob right out of his mouth. And he does it so quickly I don’t even get time to break the seal on his latch. I couldn’t even breastfeed him back to sleep last night because it hurt so bad and I was getting so frustrated. Now I’m pumping and even that hurts and I usually don’t have a problem with it hurting 🥲

Omg girl same! Mines 6ms and I'm over it 🤣 idk how I managed 2 years with my first

Gums hurt! I remember when he did that soo much in one day I had to take 2 days and do strictly bottles to heal

I understand where you coming from. When my son latches now I jump out of fear of it hurting. I wish there was a switch I could flip and he get his milk from the bottle or cup

Id try some nipple cream and if it carries on hurting then talk to a doctor, my first did this for a long time and it’s the process I went through. One of the times he literally took a chunk out of my nipple which is why I am very vigilant and careful when feeding through teething episodes.

@Savannah ouchhhhhh 😭😭😭

@Christine that’s exactly why I started my babe on bottles early just in case and I’m so glad I did.

@Elizabeth it’s exhausting 😭😭😂

I wish I knew @Sarah lol

@Sarah it really is 😭

@Christine I know they say not to introduce early due to nipple confusion but my baby has taken to every bottle I’ve given him and I started at 2 weeks but every baby is different!!

Baby needs a teether. Don't let him get in the habit of teething/gnawing on your boob Give bub a teether before every feed, for a good ten minutes Then offer the boob If he gnaws on it even once, unlatch and put boob away. Gently stuff his teether back in his mouth. Say "the boob is not for biting, here is your teether" They learn pretty quick.
