Transverse baby

I have a scan next week. My baby has been transverse or breech this whole pregnancy, total opposite to my first he was head down from pretty early on. I will be 36 weeks at my scan and if baby is still in either of these positions will they talk about birth options then?

I just had this conversation with my midwife as I’m 36+1 today and they think baby is breach. She said they do a scan at bang on 37 weeks and confirm. If baby is breach you have the option of ECV and failing that a C-section is booked at 39 weeks x

@Sarah thank you Sarah. I don’t like the option of an ECV. Also, with my son I was only in labour for 5 hours start to finish. I’m really worried about going in to labour at home if baby is transverse or breech as I think this time it’s all going to happen super fast. I’d also be surprised if I got to 39 weeks! Oh god! 😅😅 Hope everything turns out good for you. 😊

I'm in same position with transverse baby. Having scan next Thursday to let me know there plans. Probably end up having c section at 38 weeks if it hasn't turned. They said to get on ur pregnancy ball as much as u can

@Katie thank you. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what I’m told. I’ve had a lot of extra scans via fetal medicine this time around so I know she has been in these positions the whole time. Fingers crossed she turns!! And hopefully for you too. I guess the more time that passes it’s less likely! 🤞🏼

I have a transverse baby who flips from transverse to breech, it’s called unstable lay, I was admitted at 37 weeks due to risks of water breaking and my section is booked for 39 weeks exactly and if anything happens whilst I’m here they’ll do the c section x

I’m 37 weeks today and had a scan this morning as my baby has been breech all along. I’m seeing the consultant tomorrow and expect to be booked in for a c section. I also don’t want an ECV as it’s only 50% success rate.

I had an ECV with my first. Happy to ro talk about it if you wan, just DM me. I do not think it was a bad procedure. My waters also broke before my planned section. I just called the hospital and went straight away. They got me in the theater as soon as it was free.

I had transverse baby and they admitted me after scan, they wanted me in for 3 weeks but spent plenty of time on the ball and she moved head down. 3 scans proved it. I only spent 2 nights in then. I think with all the stress of it all it’s affected my blood pressure. I’m going with a planned c section now xx

@Stacey Yes I said I will refuse ECV so would just opt for the C-section! Oh wow that’s very quick 😂 I don’t have any experience so hoping little one holds on and doesn’t do that if I get booked in at 39 weeks 😂 Thank you I have a scan tomorrow morning so we shall see 🤞 Hope it all works out for you aswell xx
