Baby reaching/exceeding mile stones

Anyone else feel like us mums with babies who are learning fast, are silenced on this app or shamed for being proud? I have empathy for those who worry about their babies not reaching milstones but we should still be allowed to celebrate ours!

I've never felt "silenced" for sharing when I'm proud of my kid's milestones 🤷🏻‍♀️

I haven't really seen anyone be silenced for this. I think people on here definitely do it at the wrong time though, you can be proud, you can make your own posts but I hate it when I see a worried mum asking for advice/support etc and someone comments about how their kid passed that milestone early/on time. There's a time and place for it.

Maybe share with your friends and family rather than a whole group of mums who have kids doing stuff at different times and in different ways? Or set up a group for proud mums to be safe to be proud in the app - ways around it xx

As someone who has preemies that were behind on most milestones, I’m not bothered by moms posting about and being proud of their babies’ who are ahead of the curve. It only becomes bothersome If they highjack a post specifically seeking advice about a late milestone. "Help, my son still isn't talking and he's almost 2." - “My baby was reciting poetry at 18 months. Try reading to him more. You got this mama! 🤗"

It’s always been silly to me that people find more connection in being discontent than the other way around. But a lot of people are like this, even those closest to you. I don’t think you should have to silence yourself over it though let the miserable ones expose themselves 🤷🏻‍♀️

I do see this a lot! Mum's do get shamed for talking about their babies achievements. Its sad really that we all can't just be happy for one another & celebrate together.

I get scared to speak on my son’s milestones even in real life. I dont want it to sound like I’m bragging, I am just so proud. But I just keep it to myself until I’m asked about it directly most the time
