Sleep regression? - sobbing while asleep

My little girl turned 6 months yesterday, for the most part she’s always been a very good sleeper and we didn’t have much of a 4 month sleep regression. The last 5 nights we’ve started to have multiple wakeups, 11pm, 2/3am, 5am which we initially put down to a growth spurt as she seemed hungry however as the nights have gone on her behaviour has changed as she’s fed less and we thought maybe it was a regression/habit or possibly teething. Last night she woke at the same times but each time was sobbing with a really sad sounding cry that isn’t normal for her, she didn’t want milk and took around 20 minutes to settle being held. We noticed that each time she was never actually awake yet continued to cry, we tried calpol in case it was her teeth or tummy (getting used to weaning) but it didn’t make a difference. Has anyone else experienced this, I found it really upsetting to see as I wasn’t sure if I was doing the right thing just holding her through it or if I should’ve tried to wake her up?

My LG does this and it's so sad to see like she is in pain or having a nightmare I just gently tap her or hold and usually it works she stops and is soothed. No idea why she is doing it though...glad is not just me /us.

Is it worth trying a dose of Calpol? Teething can have them off their food.

@Charlotte just realised I managed to miss the word calpol out of my sentence 🫣 we had tried that but it didn’t seem to make a difference. In terms of the feeding, her having milk through the night was a brand new thing. She hasn’t had a feed past 10pm since she was about 4 months and we stopped her dream feeds so I wouldn’t say she’s off her food 😕 she’s done the exact same thing last night so think we’re going to take her to the GP just in case x

@Samina has she done it for a while? We’re on the 3rd consecutive night now so I think we’re going to take her to the GP as it’s a brand new thing for us x

@Jade not consecutively just here and there... seems to have stopped doing it now. I think you're best to take to GP just in case pls let us know what they say. Take care x

Yes! My little boy who’s 6 months 2 weeks has started doing this, absolutely breaking his heart but he’s still asleep, I actually woke him the other day and he instantly started smiling at me. Was so weird 😂
