Sleep routine and feeding

My 5 and half month old has 7oz bottles every 4 hours he’s a chunky baby but when it reaches 7pm it’s like he refuses sleep for two hours and will drink up to 20oz between 7pm and 9pm . Any recommendations to cut down his milk but also get him to settle . Have tried cuddles , rocking and he just screams blue murder from one bottle to the next . I don’t want to be over feeding him but I’ve tried giving him extra throughout the day to space it out but doesn’t work . He sleeps through the night so that I can’t complain about but it’s so difficult. He also leaks through his nappies a lot and I’ve upped the size twice in two weeks . He’s in size 5 nappies and I’m about to put in size 6 🤦‍♀️. Help mummas please

This came up on my feed though Im not in this group. They can feed like this to soothe their stomachs if they are hurting, I would definitely contact your HV or GP if he is rapidly gaining weight as thats a lot of formula. My baby is 9 months and 50th centile and in size 4+ nappies so I would definitely get that checked out. Will he take a dummy instead?

I’ve had him checked by health visitor, dietitian and his neonatal consultant, he’s in the 98th percentile but from what they have said he should be drinking no more than 35oz a day and he’s only drinking say 39 to 42oz which is only one bottle extra a day all together from 7.30am to 9pm I was told to start weaning him which will take away a bottle but he’s really not ready yet 😔🤦‍♀️ . He has a dummy but very fussy I have to pop a tiny bit of gripe water in his mouth for him to keep dummy in . X

Ive also been told that He’s not a fat baby he’s just very well built larger baby . X
