Been awake all night with back pain

I’ve been awake all night with period cramps and excruciating back pain and I don’t know what to do anymore, I have hardly slept due to not getting comfortable, taken paracetamol which doesn’t touch the sides and tried all positions. It’s making me cry as it’s so de habilitating. I feel useless and just so uncomfortable!!!

Have u called hospital? X

@Lilly yes, I went in last week too with the same issue and they just told me it was Braxton hicks and sent me home

I get this occasionally if I’ve done too much and it’ll also go into my right hip. Have you tried sleeping on your side with quite a fat pillow between your legs so it opens everything up? That’s literally the only thing that I’ve found to help. No harm in ringing triage again though if your concerned x

Id personally go back to triage to get monitored again. It can’t hurt and they really don’t mind, it’s best to be cautious in trimester 3. I don’t mean to frighten but I had awful back pain, went in for monitoring and I was in full blown labour without knowing (no water breaking, bloody show or other obvious things).

@Sarah could they pick up these contractions on the monitor or through checking your cervix? Sorry to be nosy! As on the monitor last time it didn’t show anything

The monitor showed waves of contractions, the one with the pink and blue bands around your belly. Never had a cervix check as I was always having a Caesarian. Had baby girl that night at 10pm but the waves were clear as day. My symptoms were severe back pain in work (which I passed off for hours as the desk chairs being crap), loss of appetite, headache and sorry tmi but diarrhoea xx

@Sarah yeah I had the same monitoring and it didn’t pick up anything. If it continues tonight I will definitely give another call! Thank you, I’ve had loss of appetite and just been uncomfortable all day. I’m only 32 weeks😬

@Sarah I did also loose part of my mucus plug last night (I think?) so definitely keeping track of everything

It’s most likely BH which suck but just monitor those feeling as you get closer. I was week 37/38 and this time around having my section much earlier to avoid it happening again but the silent signs are the ones people miss (they just think it’s water breaking as the trigger). You know you best, almost there though xx
