At the beginning it just feels like little pops of air bubbles or little pokes. It can be easy to miss sometimes. If by 24 weeks you haven’t felt baby move get in touch with your midwife as well. Also where is your placenta? Is it anterior?x

Thank you. I’m not sure where my placenta is, would they have told me at my 20 week scan? X

Yes, it kind of is, it feels like either a butterfly fluttering inside. Or a little poke from the inside. Previous commenter is right and definitely does depend on placenta positioning

If you have an anterior or if its your first baby you may not feel movements that's are prominent.. it'll be like wind or gas bubbles tickling you. I have an anterior placenta and don't feel much bar the occasional flutter. If you use badger notes and check the scan section under your 20w one it would tell you the position of placenta :) x

No it's not obvious at first but it becomes obvious as the weeks go on. Felt like bottom gas moving at first in my tummy but nothing came out 😂

For now they may still feel like butterflies, flutters, pops or bubbles. Within the next couple of weeks and as they get bigger it will get more obvious. I’m also 22wks and have been feeling baby G for a little while - with kicks and swirls, I’ve also got an anterior placenta but this is my third baby.

@Melissa They usually tell you at your 20 weeks scan yes. If they haven’t told you have a look in your pregnancy notes as it might be in there as well and if not get in touch with your midwife and see if they can scan you again just to see where it is. As with an anterior placenta kicks aren’t very obvious until around 27-30 weeks for some people x

Also I only really notice my baby ‘popping’ around if I’m lying still if I’m walking around no chance I’d feel it at the moment

I think I was feeling baby before I realised so I don’t think it’s obvious at the start, but eventually there’s no doubt it’s baby. I wouldn’t worry, my sister in law had a posterior placenta and didn’t feel baby til 24 weeks x

Thank you everyone. I can’t see anything on my scan notes about my placenta, so waiting for a midwife to call. Just desperate to feel baby now x

@Melissa try not to get too worked up I'm sure all is fine :) remember the baby can sense when your happy and say and anxious xx

Its super obvious but I didnt get the ‘obvious’ movements till 23 weeks so dont worry! Xx

@Melissa my sonographer checked the placenta at my 20w scan so I think you’d know by now xx
