Anyone else’s baby…?

Hi mamas! This is my second baby and boy, have we been in for a ride. He’s the total opposite of my daughter when it comes to sleep/feeding… Especially at night time. He will literally screech SO hard that his voice becomes hoarse. I can only imagine the pain his throat is in when he gets this fussy. He’s so difficult to keep awake even if that means completely stripping him down to his diaper when it comes to his meals. He’s 8 days old for reference. During the day he’s great— wake up, feed one boob, wake window, diaper change if needed again and feed the second boob and 2-3 hour stretches. At night though, he can be latched for what feels eternity and while he’s limp, once placed down in his bassinet, he starts full blown screeching. During the check up postpartum, pediatrician said he just wants to be held. But why would he not behave this way during the day and only at night? Anyone else’s baby done this?

Maybe something you’re eating causing reflux? With my first daughter she had a pretty sensitive stomach and I really had to watch what I ate and went dairy free but before I changed my diet every night like clockwork she screamed when laid down and she was fine during the day. Night feeds were definitely longer like she was looking for it to soothe her belly. Changing my diet helped but she got even worse at two months and ended up needing reflux meds which were a game changer she was so happy after that! She grew out of the acid reflux at 6 months and got off the meds thankfully!
