Nipple care

Hello everyone I’m a ftm and breastfeeding/pumping. What are you ladies doing for nipple care? I have cream but they’ve gotten so sensitive and just feel exhausted. If that makes sense.

Silverettes will save you! My IBCLC did say you should buy the brand name and they're $$ but last forever and are worth it!

After each pump ice them and before each pump heat them. I use earth mama nipple butter and a nipple shield to protect my nipples from rubbing against my clothing

1000% get some silverettes! Totally worth it and you won’t need any cream. I wore them all the time, would rinse after each feed and reapply.

Don’t wear tight bras it can cause clogged ducts. Make sure you have a set of flanges because your nipple size can change and wrong flange causes pain. If the pump pulls on a lot of your areola it will cause nipple trauma and won’t pull enough milk. So you might think you are not producing enough even if you are. Put breast milk on your nipples and airdry your breasts when they are cracked or sensitive. Put nipple cream before pumping so less friction and pain

I use lanolin. I BF and pump (4-5x per day); I rub the lanolin around the pump flange before I pump. It’s worked great and I never have irritation or need to apply other times. Lansinoh is really good or medela (thicker)
