Toddler just won’t sleep and it’s pi**ng me off!!!

She’s been doing this for the last few days, she sleeps for around an hour or two and wakes up. Then she doesn’t go back to sleep, I’ve tried everything but she just stays up for hours. It’s currently 2.30am and she has to be up at 7 for nursery, if I look at her, she’ll pretend to sleep but otherwise she’s just looking around the room. I am so f*cking tired but I can’t sleep until she does, husband gets upset when I get annoyed at her for it but I need my sleep! I’m the one that has to deal with a cranky toddler after nursery tomorrow.

Have you tried putting her on the bed with you?; I know you probably won’t like this answer but if she’s in her crib, and she’s safe, fed, and isn’t crying or fussing, then let her be and go to sleep luv. Then tomorrow, before she comes home from nursery, see if you can order some magnesium lotion or pick some up from the shops. Give her a warm bath, rub her down with the magnesium lotion and let her cuddle with you. It should help her sleep.

@Josie yesss girlie! She did this last night so when she woke up tonight, I put her back to sleep in her room but she slept for around 30 mins and woke up again and came to my bed. But if she wakes up tomorrow night, I’m just gonna leave her in her room and I’m gonna go to sleep. Obvs have the monitor on and leave my door unlocked so she can come if she wants to but I’m not waking up 😂 I will definitely try and get my hands on some magnesium lotion, thank you for that ♥️ I gave her a nice warm bath last night but that didn’t help at all 😂 keep me in your prayers sis 😭

@Josie btw she’s finally asleep 😂

Yessss 🙌 thank the heavens she’s asleep!!! 😅 now go get you some rest before she changes her mind and wakes up again.

Melatonin. When my schedule is correct I can get up early at 8am and my daughter naps around 12-3p and and is high energy so she would stay up naturally till 2-4am.. I have to do HIGH energy draining activities a few hours before my preferred bedtime 9/10pm. And if she’s still not drained to drop dead I do nice bubble bath. I give her melatonin while she’s in there. Let her play in there and then after 45 mins wash her up and then just lay with her till she falls asleep. Sometimes it’s quick like I don’t even need to lay down with her but sometimes an extra 5-15 mins and then she’s out. Sugar is starting to affect her now so I don’t give her any sugar 4 hrs before and no drinks 2 hrs before.

How old is she? Does she still nap? Usually this is a sign the schedule is wrong and there's too much day sleep

Does she take a nap? My kids were acting like they didn't need their nap when they were 2, so I just stopped trying.

Why can’t you sleep until she sleeps? Do the bedtime routine, then put her in the toddler proofed room and shut the door
