Should I be worried?

The last 3 weeks I’ve noticed my son doing some of these behaviors. He has his 18 month check up next week so I’ll be asking his pediatrician then, but wanted to see if others have seen similar in their LOs. I have noticed him shaking his head, spinning in circles & rolling his eyes back anywhere from 2-5 times a day. Not all at the same time & not super frequently but enough for me to notice. My mind has went to autism, seizures, issues with his ears (he had tubes put in about 6 months ago) He’s be developing great, running, climbing, 50+ words, lots of gestures, eats & sleeps great, understands us, & has good eye contact. So I’m trying to not be too worried but it’s hard not to be! Am I overthinking? Are these normal toddler behaviors & he’s just curious about them, or could it be something more?

Mine is for sure spinning in circles and shaking his head a lot. But my kid is super social, great with eye contact, understands everything we say, and is meeting all his milestones. He is a little slow on speech but he is bilingual. I always have an eye open for autism but nothing is sticking out as super abnormal to me.

I haven’t see the head shaking or eye rolling with my daughter but she does loveee to spin right now. My guess would just be that he’s looking for some extra sensory input! Try not to stress yourself out mama! It sounds like he’s doing wonderful ❤️

@Mia thanks for sharing! I know so many of these things are normal toddler behavior right now, it’s one of those things I just think about!

@Valerie thank you 😊 he thinks it’s funny when he does it & we sometimes laugh at him too, I’m sure that makes him do it more
