Same situation so following

Can they fall asleep without rocking/dummy etc? We sleep trained at 5 months, it wasn’t traumatic & we’re all happier xx

@Rosie no he won’t self settle and my eldest was the exact same with self settling Both love their cuddles

Ahh right okay, well I’d say this is why he won’t want to sleep in his cot. We still have plenty of cuddles throughout the day & before bed but she’s happy to fall asleep independently in her cot for naps & bed. X

@Rosie yeh I try get him to but he just screams and cries

Sorry to jump on this post, but @Rosie how did you sleep train your baby in a non traumatic way? We've got the first stretch of the night sleep down, but naps and every other waking through the night is either being fed/rocked to sleep if we don't him to be crying hysterically or missing out on sleep.

@Bhavni omg same situation here. I am desperate for sleep. She wakes up at least 5 times at night and wants to be rocked, otherwise she will cry hysterically 🥺. Don’t know what to do and I feel so tired

@Bhavni hi, we used a sleep trainer at 5m. You need to exhaust them before bed, big wake window. Dont let them fall asleep on bottle. It literally took one evening. She cried on and off for 38 minutes and we popped in to reassure 3x in that space of 38 mins. She’s gone down to bed and naps fine ever since. I wouldn’t say this was traumatic for us or her, a lot of gentle methods still involve A lot of tears and because they often take weeks to work and ultimately you’re still not doing what they want haha - I know it isn’t for everyone, but I believe the quicker the better to be honest. And I was at total breaking point, I was a mess, something had to change. the sleep lady we worked with says 3-5 days max.
