Introducing a comforter

How did everyone manage to introduce a comforter to their baby? We’re struggling with sleep, and I’ve gone back to work. Baby has absolutely no ability to self sooth and 9/10 needs to be fed to calm down, sleep etc (she’s breastfed) Even when breastfeeding she uses my hair as comfort, and I’m trying to wean her off the boob and get her to stop pulling my hair! I’ve been trying to introduce a comforter and placing it between us when I feed her but she’s just sooooo uninterested, how did anyone else managed to get them to use a comforter or any item tbh as a form of comfort?

I started when she was really young which may be a factor, but sleep with it literally in your bra or around your neck for a few nights keep placing it between you when feeding and leave it with her for every sleep naps and night time. It worked for us x

We encouraged playing with the comforter in the day to build her familiarity with it. This way when she’s in bed in the dark if she reaches and touches it she recognises it

I want to introduce one too but my girl just throws everything away when it’s nap or bedtime. From what I remember with my eldest he chose the Teddy and we went with it 🤷‍♀️. No sign of that happening this time though xx

I think it was just persistence to be honest. I wore his comforter for A day so it smelled like me but he’d throw it away but we just kept on giving it for every nap and sleep and after weeks it finally stuck x
