how do you grocery shop?

do you do a weekly routine grocery trip and buying what you need more of? or do you wait until you absolutely have no food left at home and then go do one giant trip?

We go probably every other day and get a couple of days worth of ingredients to make dinner and sometimes pick other bits up too.

@Jasmine same, i love walking distance to a grocery store so i’ll do a routine trip weekly or bi weekly but then realize i forgot a few things and go back the next day lol

I feel like I go in to a supermarket almost everyday. Even if I had done a big shop in the week, you always need something. Plus I dunno I find comfort in it.

@Kya okay same. i don’t go everyday but when i can i’ll find an excuse to go lol. my husband and i always say i was born to be a housewife/stay at home mom because i get SO excited to go to the grocery store that i can’t sleep and stay up all night in bed thinking about it. it’s so therapeutic haha

I shop most days for that evenings meal 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm too disorganised to do a weekly shop.

@Laurie i make a list of meals i think i’ll be craving for the week and go based off that!

I meal plan every week and then shop from that plan. Whereas my husband will be in there every day.

@Katharine awww, love that he’s involved haha

We have one big restock trip we do whenever we get low on essentials that we try to keep stocked, but we go out anytime we end up needing something we don’t have

Once a week online delivery then small top up shops for fresh bits as needed.

We do one big trip to Sam's Club once a month. Then I do one or two small shops at Aldi in a month.

Weekly trip every Sunday for stuff like meat, vegetables, fruit, snacks, toilet paper and detergent and whatever else we need. We stock some up to have it in case cuz sometimes the supermarket runs out of things.

@Grace i recently started going to aldi, the prices blow my mind lol

@Nathalie i hate when the store runs out of stuff like detergent or toilet paper, especially if it’s a brand im loyal to/only buy lol

Once every two weeks for us. We use food stamps so we have to budget that. And then save some of it for emergencies like when we renew it Also, off subject. But I haven't seen you around lately. Did you take a break

@quiddo that's why I started shopping there too 😂 the products are just as good as anywhere else, but you can't beat those prices! Plus I've found some really cool random stuff in their middle aisle. I got a pack of off-brand magnatiles for $14! And they're just as nice as regular magnatiles, but way cheaper! I compared, Aldi had off-brand 60 pack for $14 and magnatiles pack of similar number is closer to $70 😂

i order groceries online every sunday 😅

@Carol💗💙 not exactly on a break but i’m just trying to be on my phone less/only be on here when i have free time !

@Karina i loved grocery delivery postpartum for the convenience but man i hated when i needed fruits or vegetables because i wanna pick the best looking ones lol

@quiddo love love Aldi, do you also have Lidl across the pond?

@quiddo i get that lol!! usually the only thing i have an issue with is avocados being unripe but i usually don’t use them until thursday/friday so they’re ready by then

@Kya nope! just aldi, lidl is similar right ?

One big online delivery on Tuesday

I make a list and when it’s more than 5 items I do a Quick Look at anything low to add. Then I shop. I don’t like waiting it out I’m impatient lol

Both. One big trip then routine weekly trips . I knew my husband eats alot but man these 6 and 7 yr olds can EAT.. my 4 yr old is eating more too

When I’m low on something I add it to my Walmart cart, which basically acts as my grocery list. On the weekend I add anything else that we want/need and get it delivered.

After a week we have no food so kind of both lol we were a 7 people house hold and are now eating as a 3 people household due to weird moves but it still feels like we’re running out in the same amount of time

My husband goes to Aldi once a week and does the majority of the shopping. He gets so excited to save money! Before that I was doing a weekly online grocery shop, with 1-2 little top up shops each week. I plan on cutting the top up shops out by buying long lasting items such as toilet paper in bulk.

I try to one big shop at the beginning of the month and then just top up with fresh fruit and veg & milk when needed

We used Hello fresh for 3 meals, 1 day out the freezer/tins 1 takeaway and then a small food shop including toiletries or cleaning products etc when needed x

As we don’t have a car, I shop as and when. Usually every few days I’ll get fresh food in, sometimes on my way home from work. Whatever the pram can carry basically.

We make a big trip for the month some times I have to make two trips but other then that I just get what I need
