Oh my goodness. How are yall handling the rebellion?

My 2 year old girl has been an absolute beast, when I ask her to do something- or not to- all I get is.. “I don’t want to” or “I can’t. I’m busy” or just flat out “no” and refuses when asking simple things. I know it’s a phase and she’s exploring her independence and self choice.. but DAMN.. it’s frustrating. Then when I enforce whatever is was I asked her to do/not do she just totally loses her mind. She used to be SOOO wel behaved.. I know we were lucky for that but I’m still losing my mind. Anyway.. that’s all thanks. Anyone else’s two year old suddenly hella stubborn?

Did you try ask her what does she want to do then?

My son is so stubborn.... He's learning he can use with voice .. and scream in full blown anger...

Same thing here 🫣 it is frustrating! I use the “ as soon as” approach. As soon as we complete ( task I asked for) then we can do ( what toddler wants). We also are using a “be calm” plan for tantrums. First we identify the big feelings then ask what would help make it better. Ie: Its okay that you feel mad, would you like to go stand outside or have some water to help you feel better? Make sure to help them identify the emotions and validate them!

@Briana I really like the “be calm” plan you mentioned! I’m gojng to try that! I’m constantly redirecting, and offering alternatives or suggestions for things I know she enjoys… but when she’s set on something, not even the best activities in the world will change her mind haha
