Walking

Hi. My almost 14 months old hasn’t started walking independently. I noticed one of her legs not been straight while she walks with support. More like the feet’s is facing outwards way much instead of been straight. Is there anyone who knows about this? Is it normal? I am going to speak with the health visitor but I would like to hear from other mothers as well please. Thank you mamas. Xx

Very normal for them to be a bit lopsided as they're learning. Legs/feet usually straighten out over time as they walk independently more and more. I would say not a worry for now just keep an eye over the coming months

This sounds like she might need a few sessions with a pediatric physiotherapist to sort it out while it's not too late. I myself take my son to one (on a different matter) and she's told me there are these cases when they start walking.

Thank you

My 14 month old was doing the same thing as well where her left leg would point outwards but ever since she started furniture walking, it’s been straightening out. She’s still not walking independently yet by herself but I was worried as well with my little girl.

This is very normal the only time I would worry is when she gets to 18momths to 2 yrs that's when it becomes a delay in walking

Mine didn't learn to walk till 16 months and it just happened all of a sudden so don't worry too much just keep encouraging
