Floor bed night routine for breastfed babies

Hi ladies, just wondering what everyone’s bedtime routine is here. As I’m still breastfeeding it feels like the bedtime routine for us can take a couple of hours every night. I usually ready to my little one and lay with her until she falls asleep then roll away. I’d love to make this shorter as I’m not having any evenings 🫠

Bath, massage, book and then we go to bed. If I'm doing bedtime I'll breastfeed him to sleep, wait till he's asleep and then unlatch him and roll away. Can take anywhere from 10-20 mins usually! If my husband does it he will do a bottle and then lay with him on his chest till he's asleep, usually takes a bit longer when he does it, around 30 mins before he can ninja roll away! I think it helps us doing all other parts of the bedtime routine in a another room and then 'going' to bed so he know that's sleep time.

@Sarah did your partner always do the bottle? We are just trying to transition mine from breastfeeding to sleep to having a bottle with his dad but my gosh, it’s like the worlds ended!

We bf and have a big floor bed too, although she still sleeping terribly so I end up in with her more often than not or I’d never get any sleep 🫠. We do a snack then 30 mins later dad does bath, pjs, teeth etc. I then take her into bed with red light / white noise and bf in laid back position and sort of bounce her laying on my chest until she falls asleep, then unlatch and roll away after ten mins or so. I used to rock her on the boob in cradle position but she’s decided she doesn’t want that any more. Normally takes 20-30 minutes but she won’t settle for dad for any naps, bedtime or overnight sleep. She’ll let me feed her back to sleep side lying for overnight wakes but not for bedtime as she rolls around thinking it’s playtime when I try 🤣 xx

I do story, bottle while laying in bed while singing a few of her favourite nursery rhymes, then when she's finished her bottle she will give it to me, roll over on to her front grab her Teddy and go to sleep All done in less than 10 minutes

I do bath, then book if she’s in the mood and then feed to sleep and roll away but sometimes it won’t work and she will go wild for an hour or so and I just have to wait it out 🫠

@Ellie he started around 8 months, took around 2 months for Henry to accept the bottle. He won't take a bottle any other time throughout the night so I have to deal with the million wake ups, so having my husband do the bottle before bed is our compromise 🤣
