Did your second child take longer to meet milestones?

My daughter was rolling with a bit of assistance a week before she turned 4 months while my son doesn’t seem interested in rolling. Last week he would get in his side and arch his back to stare at what was behind him but now he’s not even doing that. He’s a unicorn sleeper and I don’t think he’s had a true regression yet. We cosleep and he will wake up for milk whenever I come to bed (midnight to 1 am) then he wakes around 6am for more milk and starts the day at 8 am. My daughter’s always been high strung and my son seems to be a little bit to chill.

My daughter reached verbal and mental milestones much quicker and my son has reached all physical milestone way quicker.

Every baby is different. My son was early with everything and crawling at 6 months and my daughter is only 4 months old but was rolling over before the 4 month mark so I don’t think it’s a sex thing. I just think every kid learns at their own pace. Some kids are just more calm, my daughter seems to be more calm than my son 🤷🏻‍♀️

My daughter was early with everything. My boy is taking longer. She rolled both ways by 3 months old and he rolled tummy to back at 3 months and rolled back to tummy at like 5 months old. She was sitting unassisted at 6 months old. He's almost 7 months and can't sit yet. My daughter was born at 39 weeks and he was born at 37 weeks and for the first two months all my boy could do was sleep and eat because he had a lip, cheek and tongue tie that doctors missed for 2 months. I feel like that's why my son is slower than my daughter was.

Our second was a unicorn sleeper. He was about 4 months behind his older sister on most milestones. I joke with my husband that it’s because she spent so much more time awake than him she had more time to practice her skills.

My first crawled and sat earlier but my second walked earlier 🤷‍♀️

@Morgan exact same for me! I find it very interesting.

Our first (girl)didn't roll intentionally until almost 7 months Our second (boy) has been rolling onto his side pretty much since we brought him home and has pretty strong neck muscles and has been holding his head up for a few seconds for bit now. It seems like he's a bit ahead of her for now but who knows cuz she started walking at 9m although of course the rolling on the side isn't intentional I wonder when it'll click for him 🤔

So far my first could sit earlier than my second . He just turned 6 months and can’t sit yet. She could at 5 months But my second rolled over before my first did

My daughter is my first born.. she was crawling by 8m and walking at 12m... my son is second born and he didn't crawl until 12m.. he's 16m now and just recently has taken his first steps. They both have incredible language though 🤷‍♀️

Oh man your kids sound exactly like my kids. My second is a unicorn sleeper and my first was super high strung (still is) but he is wanting to roll soon (3m) he just can't figure out how to get his giant head over his chunky arms. I wouldn't worry though. He probably just doesn't care to yet. Have you done assisted rolls?

@Annie yeah I do assisted rolls for tummy time! I wonder if I’m just holding him to much or not I Tera time enough when he’s down since my first demands a ton of attention still.
