Speech

Ladies, I'm going incognito as I've posted before about my little ones speech and don't want to seem as though I am boasting, I'm more concerned. He is excelling in speech, he can count to 20, do his abcs and most recently, count backwards from 10 and ends with "blastoff". I am beyond proud of him, but a part of me thinks that this isn't normal for his age? Is anyone else's babies like this? Everyone who meets him can't believe how well he can speak. My mind is racing over 100 miles about this 😅

My boy doesn't say a word 😅

What is your concern?

@Megan aw it'll come all in his own time 🥰

@Sophie I'm not too sure really 😅 just thinking it's strange since a lot of people have mentioned how well he speaks and guess I'm overthinking it. Just wanted to know if anyone else's little ones are similar x

I think you’re overthinking. It’s unusual but it’s not like it’s going to cause him any problems.

@Sophie yes I would agree with you there! That's true! Thank you x

Maybe he’s a genius, maybe he’s just a bit further ahead. 😊 Either way, totally cool to be proud of your little guy! My LO can count to ten, name about 12 colours and has about 80 words quite easily. So not as forward as your boy but also not necessarily too far behind. That said, today he was crawling on the floor at the supermarket (he can walk!) so I’m not enrolling him in Mensa anytime soon 😝

I wish my son could you should be so proud 😍

I don’t think you’re overthinking as I would be worried too but I am very anxious and worry about everything 😂 my baby can only count to 3 and say about 100 words and I know that’s more than a lot her age so it does sound he’s very far ahead! Is he saying sentences? X

My now 11 Yr old had fantastic speech at a younger age than normal too Now she's the same as everyone else, they all get there to the same level Don't worry it's not a bad thing having early speech or late speech

My eldest was like this but my youngest has about 3 words that he uses sporadically. They all develop differently and it’s ok if they say 100 words or 0 words. Let’s not compare our gorgeous babies ☺️

Be proud. It's impressive!

I have a friend whose daughter was counting to 10 and could do the days of the week before she was one. From an outside perspective it is really odd to see such a young baby doing stuff like that, so lots of people do comment on it 😂 she's just a few months older than my May baby but people assume she's like 3. So yes, defo unusual, but not unheard of! I wouldn't worry :D

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I suffer badly with anxiety so was overthinking things ridiculously. Like a lady said above, never compare your gorgeous babies!! I love to hear others stories about their little ones 🥰

My daughter is saying around 50 words and a couple of sentences and is able to sign milk and food. Every child is different, I wouldn’t be concerned about it. Very impressive ☺️xx

Maybe you have a little child genius on your hands 😏 definitely nurture it and see what else he can maybe do, he might be naturally academic 🩵
