"We've got time"

I'm trying to get the nursery sorted but there are still things in there that need to be moved out. There's a TV that needs mounting in the living room and a box that needs to be put in the loft. I'd do it all myself but the box is super heavy and I'm not allowed to climb ladders, and I don't want to mess up the wall or TV by mounting it myself. The ceiling of the nursery still needs painting, and other things need to be sorted out. I keep stressing this to my boyfriend and every time he says "we've got time" ... BOY WE HAVE 10 WEEKS!!! I feel like 10 weeks is absolutely NO time at all and there is so much left to do!! Ugh, stress!!

I get how you feel but if it makes you feel better we've hardly done anything! I've only just got the first few baby bits this weekend (from a kind relative). It's stressful thinking about all the things to do but you will get there

Uh I feel this. I cried today because of how overwhelmed I am with things to do😂6 weeks for us and my partners working most weekends so I’m stressssed x

Know the feeling, my OH is so relaxed about it all! The only thing that helped was to have a blitz day - like right we’re going to get as much as humanly possible done on this one day and then I can stop nagging you for a bit. That and getting friends / family to help; in all honesty I think he saw them doing things and thought shit I should really help 🫢

Honestly don’t put too much stress on yourself to get a Nursey done …. Baby likely won’t even sleep in there for the first 6 months anyway! I have an almost three year old who’s Nursey was beautiful but she never set foot in there as we ending up moving before she was ready to sleep on her own! This time around I haven’t bothered with doing the nursey and will revisit nearer to when they are around 5/6 months old x

Remember baby will be in with you for most like first 6months so you still have time maybe he could do it in paternity leave. But yeah I’d still be nagging him now ngl 😂😂

@Tanya @Jessica the plan is for one of us to sleep in the nursery with the baby as the baby's bedroom is fairly far away from the bedroom and there isn't room in our bedroom for the crib/cot. So we're trying to get the nursery done as quick as we can, we also need to move a single bed from my mum's house into the nursery 😅

We have so much to do before arrives and I feel ill constantly and have a toddler to look after, my partner bless her is doing what she can, cupboard to sort, stairs to sand and paint, finish painting around the house!! 9 weeks left come Tuesday 🤦‍♀️

@Jessica I second this! Our son and our friends' children never set foot in their nurseries and then moved into toddler beds. For many families a decorated nursery ends up being unused! 😄 Cheeky babies hehe x

Just under 6 weeks to go for us and we still need to paint the nursery, build furniture, start packing hospital bag, take everything out of the loft and wash covers (swinging chair and pram for example) and most of the clothes to wash! The time absolutely flies (my son arrived 3weeks from now 😂 so that’s panicking me this time 😂)

10 weeks is loads . You've got time! I've got 3 spare weekends left and need to sand all the woodwork in my hallway lay a carpet, laminate floor in my lounge and fix the porch roof 🤣🤣

Why are the men so terrible when it comes to ensuring it’s all done in time 😑I’m having the same problem, we all say we have just under 10 weeks left but do they not understand a baby can come any time before then if they want to and aren’t guaranteed to come on their due date 🫤 I swear if it was men carrying the baby instead of us we’d see how quick things would get done 😴

We have a snag list and a purchase list on the fridge. Only 8 things on each list which are bugging "us" the most. As soon as one gets wiped off we give it a day and replace it with the next priority. Stops him saying "there's nothing that needs doing" and he can pick and choose which gets done so long as something gets done when we have free time I'm not getting too wound up on the one thing that's bugging me most!.. The pile of outdoor cushions and chairs ect in the middle of the nursery to go in the attic currently 🥴
