Movements

I never know when I should be worried or not. She's not one for moving much, my baby. I've had regular scans and checks to check her weight and size as she's on the smaller side due to the the lack of room to grow. All the scans and my checks etc have always been fine. No real issues other than the size. She can go for a day without me feeling her move and then she'd give me a nudge in my hip or rib to be like I'm still here. I feel like this is the norm for me but should it be the norm? Like I never know if I should be concerned or not... to me I just think she's comfy and lazy 😅

My girl is very similar to this, I don’t feel anything for hours and hours then she will just nudge me and I’m like ok 😂 I thought it was probably something to do with the position she’s in, every time I’ve been checked she’s been fine so I can only assume that’s just what my movement pattern is xx

I would say it's the norm for you. Everyone's norm will be different. I've got an anterior placenta and I go sometimes what feels like hours where I hardly feel any movement and other times I've been sat down eating or just relaxing or laying down and he'll be moving loads it varies throughout the day I don't feel or see kicks as such.

@Nicole mines anterior which is why I'm not overly worried as I know it dulls the movements. Let's just hope she's as chill outside as she is inside

My first was like this, didn't move around much, and it was normal for that pregnancy. This time babies having a constant rave and it's normal for this Pregnancy. She might just be having a lovely comfy time inside.

My first baby was like this, was like she already had her own routine for wake windows so I knew there would be small windows that I would feel her movements and they were always relatively soft. This baby though seems to never sleep, is always practicing karate on my rib cage and moves so much that my husband can be across the room and see my belly move! Each baby and each pregnancy is always unique, my first was also small so maybe their movements are just more gentle/soft? This boy on the other hand feels and measures a lot bigger than she did 😂😂

I feel like you have to listen to your mum intuition. If you feel like it’s okay, it probably is. I listened to my intuition on the first and it served me well.

@Adele I've been twice before for reduced movements, and that's when I found out that she wasn't growing as well as they liked. So it's worked in my favour tbf. As I do wonder what would have happened if I hadn't gone twice in a row for it. I think I don't feel as anxious just cause I know that myself and baby is doing fine even with the lack of a pattern, if you know what I mean

@Emily my first was very chill inside but at scans and midwife appointments they said he was very active. Out he was very chill and content as a newborn and mostly slept so fingers crossed for you!

I have the same thought. I always feel like I only ever feel hiccups in a given day and I want to know if it’s normal. My midwife doesn’t seem concerned but I feel like it’s all on me to know when I’m feeling less movement… but I haven’t noticed a pattern! So anxiety inducing

@Emily completely! Trust your gut, it’s usually right and make sure you keep following it when your little one is here too.
