Drying up breast milk tips?

Either hand express or pump until the pressure/pain goes and then stop. Cold cabbage leaves can help with engorgement and take sudofed

You need to relieve yourself to an extent or you will get engorged and possibly infected. So express or pump a little until the sore spots ease up. Use a heat pack to help loosen the clogged ducts and of you have other comforting things for your boobs use those too. With my first my milk didn't go away for a month. I am currently stopping breastfeeding my second and I have pumped and expressed a handful of times over the past 4 days, today is the first day I don't feel like my breasts a filling up again so my body is starting to get the message that we don't need so much milk. But when I express a bit of milk still comes out.

I wouldn't stop cold turkey to bf. I would reduce the feeds weekly so your body have time to adjust. If you prefer to do it cold turkey, you still need to take the milk out of your conduct. If not you LL get a mastitis and that should lead to serious health issues. You are not gonna dry up after 40hours. Good luck

I tried to cut down but needed to just stop. I did the same for the two days and didn’t express but then it was to uncomfortable. I started to express only till I was comfortable so maybe two to four times a day and then that cut done as I produced less milk. The pain goes away after a week to week and half, although it does dull before then.

How did your little one take it when you refused to feed? Desperately want to stop bf but he loves it so much.
