I let my LG fall asleep in my arms and slide her on to a pile of cushions on the sofa and keep an eye on her. In the next few weeks going to try naps on my bed and feed while lying on my side and roll her over on her back once she is sleeping, this is how I get her to sleep at night x
The only time I’ve been successful with it, is I’ll rock him to sleep in my arms and keep going until he’s properly asleep, then lay down on the bed with him - still in my arms - wait for him to resettle then gradually move my arm away. But he co-sleeps with me in that bed so I don’t know how helpful that is to you! It also doesn’t work all the time, he's still having most of his naps on us, i'm just hoping its starts to improve!

My little boy has been the exact same, I know it isn’t recommended but he loves to sleep on his side, if I put him down in a dark room with white noise, in a sleep bag so he’s warm enough and let him sleep on his side he will usually do his lunchtime nap 12-2:30 on his own in his bed x
