Gagging

Hi! Does anyone Else’s toddler force like toys or fingers down their throats to the point where they are literally sick? My daughter has done it twice now both times she’s thrown up but continues to do it even after being sick? I’m really not sure why she does this and I tell her off when she does it but it doesn’t even phase her? Is this normal??????

Not sure if it is normal but My son was doing this a couple of months back, seem to have been a phase for him as he no longer does it. I used to tell him not to do it but it also didn’t phase him.

My son would do it for a bit, it’s a phase but damn an annoying one. Would constantly be making himself sick and me telling him off he’d just laugh at me🫠

@Caitlyn oh god it’s just so annoying lol plus I’m scared she’s gonna get something stuck down there lol xx

@Chanie it’s horrible ain’t it! I’m not too fussed with sick but I just don’t understand why she loves to do it so much😂 like why do you want to make yourself sick😭😭xx

It’s a new sensation, I don’t think they enjoy being sick but yeah, if they can do it, they will😂 x

There isn’t any point telling them off for it, they don’t understand and they are just learning new things their body does so are experimenting. It will stop by itself, just let them get on with it and discover themselves

I spoke to my HV about my son doing this, she said they're actually forcing their gag reflex further down and it's quite normal behaviour x

It’s a normal part of development x

My son has been doing it for the past 3 months and won't stop regardless to being told off
