Sit up chair

My little boy is 4 months. 5 months at the end of this month. He absolutely hates his swinging chair as it doesn’t sit up right. He would rather be in his pram where he can sit up or on the couch with us with a pillow behind him. What are the best chairs we could look at getting for him? My little girl was a lot different to him so just looking for some recommendations 😫 I know most sit up me up seats are recommended till 6 months 🙄

Bumbo seats often say from a younger age. Or you could use a high chair. My baby is also 5 months at the end of the month- he will sit in the bumbo seat for around 10 mins before getting cross but will sit in his high chair for 20 mins happily.

@Maria we've got this one too

@Maria I got this one for mine too and she hates it!! I'm not sure why because she can sit up really well 🤷 I don't know if it feels too confined or something lol

Bumbo seats aren’t recommended because they don’t support baby’s hips and torso properly which can lead to strain, but there are inflatable chairs on TikTok that are apparently safe to use because they support babies a lot better, and also Fisher Price do a sit-me-up which is considered safe as well. Just make sure not to leave them in them for extended periods of time 🙂

We have the floor seat too, but we've not put him in it yet. I did put my firstborn in it from 4/5 months though while we ate.

I got a fisher price sit me up and my baby was too big for it even tho it said 4 months + and she’s 3 months

I got a blow up one from Aldi. It says 6 months and sitting unaided on it, but my 4 month old loves it! I always sit with her as she can easily topple it over, but it's much easier than having to hold her. And I personally think the less support the better as it helps them build up the muscle themselves. She's the same with the rocker and bouncer and is constantly just trying to push herself up instead of laying down!

@Levi I tried a bumbo with my little girl and I hated it. She just didn’t look comfortable at all. We’ve got the fisher price one coming today so hoping that will be good for him 🥰

@Amanda I had one for my little girl and I hated it and so did she. She just didn’t look comfortable in it x

@Sophie oh really. I still think they are too young 🤣 But I have a 1 year old and she was in a high chair etc at 5 months and was absolutely fine 😂 I’m so much more cautious this time round and I have no clue why 🤣🤣

@Courtney same. She squirms and pushes back in it like it's really uncomfortable. She is going through a phase of throwing herself backwards though when she's sat up. I think she is just wanting to learn to crawl and not interested in much else.
