Christmas help.

I have started looking for Christmas presents for my little one. I was wondering if anyone else gets toys above their age? Such as I have seen something that I think he’d enjoy but it’s 3+ and my little one is 18m..

Think maybe anything that helps with learning, also with the 3plus toys you have to be careful what’s in them as when they are young they love putting stuff in their mouths so most are choking hazard. Look in Smyths toys they are great. Maybe a little kitchen? Or scale electric

I was looking at a construction bench but was 3+ he has a little tiny one that’s for 1 years and loves that so was wanting to upgrade it but only one I can find is 3+

Got my girl a toy hoover which is 3+ and she loves it! I say just use your judgement. If there's bits that come off and can go in mouths etc then maybe give it time. But if it's a sealed unit type thing or has larger removeable parts then I would still go for it. I don't see a problem as long as you do your due diligence 😊😊

We have also got some toys above age, i wouldnt buy something like a board game etc for 3+ but would buy a toy if i thought it was suitable for my daughter. x

3+ marking is not necessarily because of brain development, but because of small parts. Anything that could be choking hazard has to be marked 3+ at least, so you need to remove the small bits or make sure you're always supervising

We’ve bought some accessories like a kettle and mug set for his kitchen that say 3+. Just think it’s a judgement call as some might have small parts in but all we plan to do is open all the accessories for his kitchen and take away anything that looks too small for him for now x
