Antenatal health visitor visits

Had ours a couple weeks ago and our crib wasn't built then either, she was fine just seeing where we planned to put it so it wasn't right up against the radiator etc. Can't help with the other child part sorry but shouldn't be an issue for the crib still being boxed! X

I had mine on Thursday, and she just sat on the sofa with me and discussed about safe sleeping/ breast feeding/ bottle feeding. Asked me questions about me and my partner to get to know us. Didn’t want to see anything x

No they don’t snoop around the house or ask to see baby room etc. ours just chatted in the living room for half an hour. She was very lovely

Thank you ladies 🥰 it makes me feel a bit better. Normally our house is spotless but because we’re decorating, it’s all a bit upside down. Its not unsafe or anything but it’s just not to my usual standards x

Had mine a few weeks back. I was concerned about this but she just popped in. Sat on the sofa had a chat with me about feeding and how I was feeling, support around me etc. About 45 minutes visit and left. I wouldn't worry, honestly I had my partner hoovering the stairs as she knocked on the door, I was so paranoid. She didn't even see any of the house 😂 X

Do they visit everyone? I’m 35 weeks and haven’t heard of this kind of visit 🤔

I just had my daughters 2.5 year check and they check your kitchen, bathroom and space they sleep. This has happened at every HV visit I’ve ever had including the antenatal visit with my first. I called and opted out of the antenatal visit this time as I didn’t feel like I needed it. She just had a 5 minute chat on the phone and said she would see me when baby is here x

I'm 37 weeks and not had one out either...

I had mine the other week and we have nothing ready. She just came around for a chat & gave information on breast feeding ect. Don’t panic about it like I did. I honestly thought they were coming to inspect my house. I deep cleaned for about a week beforehand 😂 and she only walked from the door to my sofa and back 😂 xx

Mine was a phone call the last time and they just asked if we have everything we need and if we've got a support network of friends and family living nearby etc. The visit after baby was born they did heel prick test and weighed baby and asked how feeding was going all carried out in my living room, they didn't ask to see baby's sleep arrangements or even care to know to be honest lol

I’ve got mine tomorrow at nearly 38 weeks but they don’t visit my house so will be intrigued what they want to ask me! X
