Bedtime routine/sleeping through the night?

My twins are 3 months now and the perfectionist in me is getting extremely hung up on how I can get them to start sleeping through the night. Honestly my twins are really good. Last feed is around 6, then I play with them a bit, bath time (one at a time), and put them down by 7:30. feed them around 10:30/11 and then they wake up again anywhere from 3-4:30 for a feed and then wake up around 7:30/8 am for the day, next feed 9:30 ish and then feed every four hours, repeat. Does this sound normal? Am I putting too much pressure? What’s your daily schedule like and bedtime routine like? How did you get your twins to sleep through the night?

This is exactly like my twing girls routine they are 11 weeks old I've tried putting them to bed late but they still wake up for that 3 am feed bless them xx

Most babies wake in night to feed until they are on solids, this sounds like a good schedule for their age x

It’s not the norm for babies of this age to sleep through the night. Honestly I’d kill for that schedule!

Oh babe.. do not expect them to sleep though the night until 1-2 years old. You're about to run into regressions.. 4m, 6m, 8m, 12m, 18m, 24m they will possibly regress and go back to waking up 7 times in a night for a month or two and then go back to normal. Do not put that pressure on yourself when it's literally out of your control. Let them do what their bodies need to naturally do. Babies need to wake often throughout the night to eat in order to TRIPLE their size in the first year. Plus, waking often prevents SIDS soooo... as badly as you want them to sleep through the night, I promise... you dont.. it's gonna be like this for about another year babe, so many changes to adapt to, and you will, and you'll all survive.

Mine didn’t sleep through consistently until 10 months, I was gutted because my son slept through from 6 months so give them time x

That's actually about the same as where mine are. Every so often I'll get a longer stretch, usually after that "bedtime" feed around 7:30. I've gotten to 6 hours on that one, but usually it's maybe about 4 hours. It looks like your second is your "long one". I'm not pushing it, because even my 2 year old still wakes up fairly often in the middle of the night to check where we are. Plus... I know the 4 month sleep regression when their sleep pattern changes is coming up and no idea how that'll play out yet 😅

Our twins sleep through (one of them has regressed slightly as they’re 4 months and wakes up at around 4 for a feed now). I honestly think it just depends on the babies. We make sure to give as much milk as we can during the day (8oz 3hrs) so they’re not hungry in the night, but otherwise we don’t do anything extra or anything. We pop them to bed at around 8:30pm/9pm and give them either a full bottle or top up bottle to get them further through the night, one sleeps through until about 6, the other a little earlier between 4-5. We stopped waking to feed when they were putting on good weights. Do they wake at 11 for a feed or do you wake them? Interested to know if they would wake up or sleep until 3!

I have twin girls the same routine and it’s Normal

@Rebecca I wake them around 11 to “dream feed” although I don’t even know if whah I’m doing counts as a dream feed lol. But wow!!! Your twins are doing 8oz/3hrs?? 😱 I tried to get them over to an every 3 hour FULL feed to try and push their calories to the daytime but they refuse to eat every 3 hours so 4 hours it is 😫

Thank you so much for all your input!! It’s nice to know I’m not alone…and that it’s normal…and that I’m being a little too ..pushy/perfectionist 😂😅

Mine didn’t start sleeping through the night until around 6 months and even then occasionally we’d have one wake up per night. 8 months is when it was consistent sleeping through. I totally understand the perfectionist side though 🙃😅 it’s rough!! But just follow wake windows that are appropriate for their age and keep working on healthy sleep habits. They’ll get there!

@Robyn I wish we could do 4 hours! 🤣 I increased their feeds to make them go longer between feeds and it didn’t work 🤣 so amazing that yours can go 4 hours without kicking off!! 🤣
