You should use metanium every time. Also saw something to pull the vest right up over so their arms are tucked in apparently makes them calm during nappy changes. Defo gonna try this with my second xx
@Amy metanium just made his nappy rash so much worse . We’d tried it before and it didn’t make it better but this time it made it worse. Not sure why. We’ve tried that, sudacrem, sudacrem gold, bepanthen, Vaseline, breast milk etc. He really hates having his arms restricted too 🙈 but I will try anything at this point! Just hate seeing him so upset with it
I have no idea if this will work for you. It did for us. I saw it on a reel. I put the wipe on her feet first and said cold. Then changed her.
Mine screamed till maybe 2.5/3 months 😂
My daughter was like this eventually she just grew out of it and was great getting changed I do just believe some babies hate it 🤣 Nappy rash - same thing happened to us as well. Worth taking to GP as I got given fungal cream and yellow cream and it cleared after weeks of not being able to clear
I found a little bit of powder really helps. Just enough to soak up any water, then applying the cream. Also we use reusable wipes with boiled water as we find them much softer on their bottom. With my LG it was the temp change she hated. With the heating on she is much less chaotic, and i talk her through the whole ideal and she seems to relax more then. Hang in there xx
Try coconut oil on his bum it works wonders foe my little ones bum and has helped loads cleared up straight away xx
My baby used to be the same during nappy changes, especially nighttime ones. We found sometimes distracting him would work and the baby Einstein aquarium was very good for this. We also had one of those star projectors and used those during nighttime changes and sometimes it would keep him calm. But often he would just scream and nothing would help. It does get better eventually! When he had a very stubborn case of nappy rash as a newborn we did hours of nappy free time for a few days and eventually it did get better. We’d turn on the heating to make sure he didn’t get cold and then wrap him up in a towel and keep him like that for as long as possible. We did go through a big stack of towels but it did help 😅 Also used cotton pads and warm water during nappy changes instead of wipes. Even water wipes were too harsh on his skin for the first few months
@Cat which wipes do you use? :) we are using cotton wool and water but I wonder if they get a bit hard when wet
This happened with mine when he was little, had a nappy rash for ages that wouldn't clear up and eventually took him to the GP, it was a fungal infection and cleared up quickly with the prescribed cream. I'd say it's worth getting the rash checked just to be safe. He used to scream during changes but he got better by about 3/4 months, sometimes we could distract him with his favourite toy. He's now 13 months and the screaming came back about 9 months as he doesn't want to be restricted/stop playing and now he tries to run away too 🤦🏻♀️
@Lauren we use cheeky wipes 😊
try weleda nappy rash cream, have you tried changing the diaper brand x
@Lauren is your LO bringing up any milk at all? Mine had terrible silent reflux and the acid would make him sore and uncomfortable. We always then made sure we did the nappy before a feed and not the other way round x
@Haylee yes - the sick up is hit and miss depending on how successful we are winding him. I usually change him midway through a feed in the night and in the day it varies depending on how badly he needs a change while tackling this rash :)

@Anisha ♡ I haven’t tried that cream- have ordered. Have used pampers, Aldi and boots. Trying a different sensitive skin pampers now
if it’s still ongoing i’d make a gp appointment, there could be an underlying reason it keeps happening and it might need a specific type of treatment! xx
@Emma same thing for us!!
Oh and generally he’s happy to be put down and sleeps on his own, amuses himself in his Moses basket or the playmat so we are very lucky - it’s definitely the nappy change he HATES!
