I tell mine no bite and I putting it away or try it again and if he bites again I say no more. They don't realize that they are hurting us it's all new to them I'm in the same boat and I'm still breastfeeding mine son and he is 11 months old.

Oh man ... My 5 month old is teething and haven't gotten there yet. I haven't even thought about that aspect ... Power to us mommas! I hope there's a good solution for ya!

I got “lucky” with my daughter. She’s only accidentally bit or rubbed her teeth on me a few times and if I react and yell in her face (not even on purpose it just hurts & surprises me) she starts screaming and crying. She hates being “in trouble” and loud noises right in her face. I would just tell him no milk/boob if he’s going to bite and put him on the ground or walk away from him. I think eventually he’ll pick up on biting = no milk and he’ll stop.

I got very lucky, my daughter is 15 months and has rarely bitten me. When she does, I don’t react (as she may do it more if I do react, purely for the reaction). I just say “No, that hurts Mummy”, whilst unlatching her

Unlatch and put baby down for 15-30 seconds. Stop nursing session. Repeat 100 times for a few months lol the biting usually is bad for 2-3 days of teething, and is either gone or rare for a few weeks before the next teething.

@Liv this! We dont want to reinforce the behavior with a big reaction. Consistently unlatching and saying a phrase like what Liv offered will help your kiddo make the association that biting = no more nursing. I would offer my baby a chewy toy after unlatching, let her chew for a bit then restart nursing.
