Calling you by your legal name

My son just started calling me “Adri” because that’s what my sister calls me and she lives with us right now. It drives me insane 🤣 is anyone else’s child doing this? I miss being called mommy 🤣

My two year old does both calls me Esha and mommy

My daughter started this a few months ago and at first I wouldn't respond to her but then I felt bad so I started correcting her. I'd say "my name is mama" but my husband pointed out that its important for her to know my actual name. So I'd say yep that's my name but you can call me mama, or something along those lines. She eventually grew out of it.

I have 3 bonus kids along with my 2 year old, so I figured he’d call me by my name sooner than later as that’s what the older kiddos call me. I didn’t make it a big deal and we told him that Paige is mommy’s other name but he calls me mommy. He doesn’t do it often and I just remind him oh yaah that’s my other name, good job remembering, Milo gets to call me mommy though!

My son went through that and it really got to me sometimes lol I just started getting fake offended like excuse me? That ain’t my name? Whats my name? It became a silly little game but now he’s 4 and I get called dude 😂

My son calls my husband by his first name. Eventually it bothered me and I said calling him Daddy is a sign of respect. He's now Daddy Dan. Most people think it's funny 🤷‍♀️

My son calls my husband by his first name sometimes. We always say no thats daddy. But sometimes we can’t help but laugh because it is so random when he does it

Lol yeah mine uses my name sometimes. My MIL taught her the first names of everyone in our family and it’s cute. I’m impressed that she remembers them all!

My friend’s daughter called her “babe” because that what the father said all the time. It’s a phase.

I can never understand why it bothers people, they hear other people call you by that name, I personally don’t mind my daughter calling me Jodi she doesn’t do it much anymore because I just ignored it & answerd her how I would normally or anyone else using my name, she started at about 18mo & she now only really calls me mummy but it wouldn’t bother me if she chose to call me Jodi, I assume she stopped because when I speak to her I only refer to myself as mummy, “mummy will help you” “mummy loves you” xx

Yes and it cracks me up! My husband came out from working and she said “Brad, Tessa and I were just making some brownies for you!”
