Screaming baby

My baby is 16 weeks old and me and his dad live separately due to both living with our parents. We stayed with my partner for 2 weeks and we have come home to my parents without his dad for a couple of nights so they can spend some time with him. Since we got here he has been crying and screaming and will not let me put him down. He never used to do this when he was a bit younger, any tips on how to overcome this or why he could be like this?

I used to always go through a mental checklist, is he hungry? is he too hot or too cold? Does his nappy need changing? Is he unwell? (Does he have a temperature) he might be scared as he is in an unfamiliar place, you could try putting something that smells of you in his cot (safely) do you have a little nightlight on?

my baby did this in few occasions when i left him..for ex : when he was 4 months old i had to go in emergency room and stayed there for 12 hours and he was screaming house down and my partner couldn’t calm him down..he went to sleep bcse was so tired of screaming and then woke up and scream again until i came home..at 12 am.i don’t know why is this happening..but i feel for you..really sorry..

@Laura I’ve got a little night light on, Ive just changed him and put him in a clean vest and babygrow and he just had 5oz so fingers crossed

@Vanesa its strange isn’t it because obviously both parents cant be together 24/7 so I’m like do I give in and go back or try and ride it out. Its just unfair because my parents etc wanna spend time with him ☹️ stuck on what to do

My little girl was always really sensitive to the cold too! I used to follow an online guide about what clothes to put her in depending on how warm the room was! We had an egg thermometer for the room which was quite helpful

@Laura I’ve got one of those too they’re so handy! I think this is just a case of missing dad
