Jabs

Hey ladies, I’m currently 17 weeks pregnant and my midwife recently asked me If I will be having any of the jabs, I know there is 3 different. Has anyone got children already or further along in pregnancy that could explain for me😁

Whooping cough is one, RSV is a new one they have just introduced and there is also the anti-D jab is something some women need (blood type dependent). Not sure about any others!

I've been offered Flu & Covid at any time. Whooping cough from 16 weeks & RSV from 28 weeks. I had them all in my past pregnancy & will be having them again this time (maybe not covid) x

@Cesca thank you x

@Stef thank you x

I got the whooping cough and hepatitis vaccine. I forgot the other one. But it’s good to get them because if you are sick when pregnant it can affect your baby’s development. Also I had a cold and it lasted long like 3 wks because I was only a few wks pregnant and couldn’t take anything. And I felt so lethargic

I had flu and covid jabs today (invited by my GP to get them due to being pregnant). You can also get whooping cough one and then RSV from 28 weeks. I plan to have whooping cough and RSV too. All important to protect ourselves and baby now and further down the line in my view.

Yes! Flu/whooping cough/ RSV. Will get them all to protect baby ♥️ You would know by now if you need anti-D as it’s only for women who have rhesus negative blood type (and rhesus positive baby). Our trust does a blood test at 16 weeks to determine baby’s blood type, then if it’s -ve you don’t need it, if +ve you do. I’m on baby 2 and it’s negative again so don’t need which is lucky! Some trusts might not do this test and give anti-D injection as precaution but I’m not sure.

I had them all in my first pregnancy and have a very happy and healthy three year old daughter. I’ve just had Covid and flu so far in this pregnancy but will be getting whooping cough and RSV when they’re offered to me x
