Baby cries every time I transfer him to his bed

This is the 3rd night now. I've been trying this since 8.30pm all 3 nights and for some reason he wakes up instantly. I'm now on my 3rd attempt, and he's woken up instantly Any ideas on what to do? He's in his next to me. Thanks!

Literally in the same situation and losing my mind, I put him to sleep an hour ago and he cries as soon as he feels me move him from my body! It’s been like this the past week/2weeks. You’re not alone

Saaaame for naps and bedtime. She’s had about twenty minutes all day and that’s been on my shoulder before transferring her. Bedtime is taking 3 hours. I think it’s a phase. bloody hope so 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 and the near constant whinging

@Hannah don’t even get me started on the whinging I genuinely thought it was just my baby I was starting to go mental

@Hannah he's crying right now so back in my arms, he's literally lasting in his bed for a minute or two 🙃😪

@I.A ahh man it's so hard to manage. Honestly I've been doing this since 8.30

@I.A @Hannah yesssss the whinging. Lol well I am glad it's no just me

It’s so hard but nice to know that we’re all in the same boat - genuinely not enjoying my days with her at the minute and feel so terrible for it but this is harder than newborn nothing pleases her or keeps her calm longer than five minutes feel like i have 100 tabs open in my brain trying to anticipate her next move 😂. Hopefully it passes and we get easier days and nights. Was 2am in the end last night 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

@Shelly sometimes a reset can help I take her out of the bedroom back into the living room do a story or play with her she realises she’s tired fairly fast and it just takes the stress and the pressure off a bit but it’s so infuriating and stressful especially when you just want an hour or so to yourself before bedtime and can’t figure out why they won’t go down and stay down

@Hannah haha yess to the 100 tabs. He's falling asleep in my arms now and my heart is pounding in anticipation to transfer him to his bed. I also feel sorry for him because he's sooo tired but just fights it when moved. Ahhh bloody hell 2am, that's awful😅

@Hannah his dad is still up so If after this transfer he wakes ill pass him over to dad. I'm so tired now

@Shelly fingers are crossed for you

Right, he's down! I've put him to sleep on his side as if he's still in my arms and gave him a comfort toy in his hand, so he thinks he is holding onto me still. Hopefully he sleeps well. Thanks ladies!

Same!! And waking up like 10 times in the night just wanting to be held, even tho she’s never done this before. I’m putting it down to a sleep regression because of the new skills she’s learning x

Also read that they can be extra clingy when teething so could it be that?

Another mama in the same boat. Currently got my son in my bed just to get some rest 😢

Lool well ladies I have No idea what happened but he's in my bed next to me! Lool I guess it didn't work at some point in the middle of the night. I dont even remember moving him. I've just tried to move him back to his bed and he's crying 🥲

@Tia it's crazy isn't it. Yh i think it's a bit of sleep regression. He's never had sleeps like it. I actually find this more exhausting than the newborn stage 😬

@Hannah your fingers crossed didn't work 🤣

@Shelly just snuggle up to him and absorb every second of the baby cuddles 🥹🥹🥹 I'm obsessed with them

@Ellie I do love them 🥰 but I also want him to know he is OK and safe in his next to me or with his dad. I don't want it to become an issue where only I can soothe him. A couple of my friends have 2+ year old and still in this situation, and they are literally at breaking point, so this is as much for him and me. I want to incorporate healthy habits for us both. If it was down to me he would forever be in my bed snuggled next to me 😅

Had this from 6 weeks, it would take 5 hours some nights. I tried everything but at 5 months enough was enough. We put her down and walked out of the room. Went back in at 3, 5 & 10 to calm her (Ferber) then it slowly increases. She goes off on her own within 5-10 mins now. Sanity restored at night. Daytime is a different story, so whingey but at least we are all getting a full night of sleep

@Emma I'm so glad that worked for you. I'll check it out
