@Claire thank you! I didn't even think of this! She is a very sensory-motivated kid. I also find she likes to move and eat rather than sit and eat. Too many things to do!
Allowing her to do this is great for her independence :) you can try a small weaning table instead so she still has the option to sit or move around as she pleases. It might help her build a more positive association with eating, rather than being restrained in a high chair.
@Aggs she's still only a crawler and hasn't yet mastered pulling to stand but I will definitely try this when she gets going!
@Christine definitely definitely check out that instagram then!! She has adhd herself and lots of sensory motivated kids - she provides lots of good advice! As long as your child is safe eating in the floor, there is no reason to make them sit elsewhere
Could be more of a sensory thing than a support thing. Growing.intuitive.eaters on instagram (board certified pediatric registered dietitian) has covered this a bit! Highly recommend following her regardless
