So my son fed for around 2.5 hours total earlier on when my milk first came in. The last 2 days he has fed for around 1 hr 20 mins in 24 hours, he is 13 days old. As long as baby is happy, content, weeing and poohing that's all that matters. The midwife said they should be feeding between 8 to 12 times a day. It's so easy to worry, and with my first I got so caught up in how long she had fed for in 24 hours and worried about it. But the duration of the feeds isn't a concern as all babies are different. Try not to worry xx
My son is 9 days old today and cluster feeding, 3-4 hours a day like you said. You talking about yours slowing down gives me hope 😅
@Giorgia first 8 days he cluster feed CONSTANTLY I actually thought my nipples might fall off😂 but yesterday and today he’s reduced massively! Gone from about 5 hours of feeding down to 2! X
Hey, my LO has been cluster feeding loads too, she is 2 weeks old today. Last night and today she has been almost constantly on the boob yet yesterday she would have a good feed and then go to sleep for a couple of hours. I think its very normal whilst they are trying to up your milk supply and also become more established at breastfeeding themselves, they will probably have the odd day where they are more content and other days where they want the comfort and other days where they are working hard to up your supply etc.
