Yes

My back only felt off/different for a few months, a year tops

everyone i know that’s had one has back pain of some sort. i say do what’s right for you. honestly you don’t know how you’ll deal with labor pain until you’re in labor. if you can’t bare the contractions you have options like the epidural. some women love it and some hate it.

With my first i didn’t get it and the contractions lasted longer but weren’t as strong because i was a only 3 units of Pitocin. With my twins i went for the epidural and it definitely helped because the contractions were a lot stronger because they had me on 14 units of Pitocin. I had the button so i was able to add more epidural every 15 minutes which trust and believe i did because damn! Labor went quicker because it was my second pregnancy and the Pitocin was much higher. I will say that i was scared about my back being messed up because the anesthesiologist was being monitored by a more senior one and she really didn’t seem to be an expert at what she was doing. My back only hurt for a few days. Im a month out now. Good luck 💗

I had two unmedicated births & the pain was bad but not unbearable. My mom had 3 epidurals & 2 of them didn’t work & she has pain still. I’ve worked in chiropractic for years & have had patients who had epidurals 50 years ago & still have pain. In my opinion, not worth getting

@Kayla so what do you suggest

It’s worth it but it greatly depends. If you get it too early it slows down labor. But if the pain is too much it helps. If you get it for too long it can cause baby’s heart to drop (even without having it too long, it’s a side effect and risk) If they give you too much of it and you’re too numb, it makes pushing harder and tears more likely to happen It can cause back pain (at the injection site) but not necessarily. You won’t know until it happens since everyone is different Your epidural can also fail, that’s a possibility they often don’t tell you can happen I personally got an epidural but I always got a “WALKING EPIDURAL”. Just enough to take the edge off but I can still feel everything just no pain and I can move around, walk. And then I always asked for the epidural to be cut off once I reach 10cm. So with the epidural you have options to avoid certain things. But you also have to be aware of the side effects aside from back pain. I had back pain but only a few months PP.

When I got mine my blood pressure went way down, they had to take me almost completely off of it, it only ended up numbing my right leg from the thigh down, it did help the contractions before they took me off of it. And I bet it would have felt alot better if I did have it. But it wasn’t too bad for me, I was in labor for an hour and a half, the pain was really when I stoped pushing.

It's 100% worth it. It shouldn't mess your back up.

Had one with my first - was amazing. Back felt a little weird when bending over for a couple months. Didn’t have one with my second, the pain was excruciating but was completely fine after.. Wanted one with my second too he just came too fast there was no time 😅

I got the epidural and felt no pain but I also didn’t feel the contractions đŸ«€ so it made it hard to push but baby didn’t want to come out anyway so I ended up having a c-section. It really depends on your situation. But what I think hurts my back really is this 9lb baby 🙃

If you have a good hospital , they shouldn’t mess your back up. My anesthesiologist did an amazing job, and i still felt my contractions so i was able to push. The birth itself didn’t hurt and i don’t have back pain. So i say go for it!

For me yes and would do it again

Yes, helped me so much! Didn’t feel anything. No back issues for me but I would discuss the pros and cons with your doctor.

I got it for both my pregnancies, the first I still feel and the second one 5 weeks ago I feel nothing! It really depends on the doctor administrating it, I feel great tho! I was induced and on pitocin and I tried to go as far as I could but I almost passed out from the pain. My blood pressure TANKED so I got it and had a successful birth and felt great! Slept a lot too!!
