Baby not swallowing Whole Foods

Hey mamas! My daughter is eating solids she is 10 months today but will swallow some food and store other food in her cheeks. I’m trying to get her to eat more of her food but most of the time she doesn’t eat it and keeps it in her mouth…any advice

My son would do this! I spoke with an OT and she suggested giving soft foods like cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, thicker oatmeal. Things that would be easier to swallow but also require some light chewing. Additionally eat in front of them and over exaggerate the chewing motion so they mimic you. Good luck!

My baby did the same thing, keep trying and she will come around

My baby does something similar....saving it for later lol . Chews it like it is gum or just holds it in his cheeks or on the roof of his mouth. Cries if I take it out but won't swallow. And it is completely smashed btw when I remove it. I went back to purees for a couple days because it was scary. Then back to lumpier foods and now we are back to eating what I eat

Same here . My son don’t have any teeth yet to chew . So I was just sticking with mashed up foods
