Ectopic heartbeat?

I had my bloods appointment yesterday, at 28+1. When it was time to listen to baby girl’s heartbeat, I knew something was wrong by the way my midwife was looking, and she says “did you hear that” I then start to panic: The midwife found an irregular heartbeat for baby girl, and called it ectopic heartbeat, which I got very upset about, but she explained it is a different meaning to ectopic pregnancy, it is just how they explain the rhythm of the heartbeat. She sent me straight to triage, and they hooked me to a heart monitor, and all the checks came back fine. They said it is common in this trimester of pregnancy, and could happen again in my next appointment, which is unnerving. Anyone else had anything similar?

So I had this in a very late growth scan with my son - like 36 weeks. A sonographer picked up what she thought to be an ectopic heartbreak (to which it wasn’t) and I was sent for monitoring. I wouldn’t worry - they often just want a second opinion when they aren’t sure xx

Hello hun, I actually have ectopic beats syndrome myself and it basically means my heart fires another beat I between beats or sometimes skips a beat when it shouldn’t but it is totally benign, I don’t have to take any medication and it doesn’t happen all the time every day either but I can feel it when it does. Although it is classed as an arrhythmia it can go away, can be there forever but either way it’s not too much to worry about xx

My first had an ectopic heartbeat, they monitored it once and said it's very common and nothing to worry about. It fixed itself after birth and she is absolutely fine no issues ever with her heart or health
