Struggling with our tot at the moment!! Help

He’s recently got over hand foot and mouth and had a funny turn earlier in the week. I’m sure he’s got a cold as I have one too. He’s slowly getting his appetite back and has started to drink a more normal amount. Nursery says he’s happy during the day but as soon as I come home he is crying his eyes out and just wants to be held and cuddled. He doesn’t want his dad really but will hang out with him a little. The dad rejection is really doing a number on my partner and our relationship as he thinks I have a part to play in it. His communication skills aren’t quite there yet so he can’t tell us what he needs yet. His sleep has been disrupted and after a period of sleeping through he’s now waking (dad deals with the wakes as he will just cry and want me to walk around with him which I don’t want to do). He’s just a hard work little man at the moment and I desperately need the parental load to be shared. It is to a point but I’m just drained. He is getting back into a routine after time off and illness so I'm hoping it's rough few weeks that will soon pass but I'm emotionally exhausted. No advise but could have wrote this myself 😢 my twin girls have been exactly the same! Finding it so hard as they only want me not dad.. day and night and will not settle at nursery so having to pick them up a after an hour of been there. Hoping they start to feel better soon and will be back to their happy little selfs! Hope your little one picks up soon x

@Rachel with twins too bless you!! Especially where you can’t catch a break at nursery. Can you ask them to power through and only request you pick them up if it’s a health issue? Otherwise how will they ever settle in! Sending you strength mama ❤️

Could’ve written the same thing! My LG has started nursery 2 weeks ago and has completely changed from being super happy to being clingy and sad with such bad separation anxiety to me😭 it’s to the point which it takes 1-2 hours to resettle her in the night and on top of that she’s got an awful cold and also had HFM just before she started nursery! Feels never ending but glad to know it’s not just us

@Lucy aww I’m so sorry to hear. With nursery is does get better!! I would say 4-6 weeks was when he was happier and less exhausted when he came home. So hard when they’ve been poorly 😩 only today has bubs been a little more receptive to his dad after a long few weeks. It feels so never ending. He’s now got both his bottom canines coming in so dealing with that. Praying he’ll sleep good tonight. Hope your little angel chirps up soon!! ❤️
