Milk after first birthday

My baby is still having a morning and bedtime bottle (and sometimes one in the afternoon) we have transitioned to pure cows milk and now I’m worrying about giving her too much. Is anyone else’s little one still having bottles ?!

I read that cows milk is much thinner so they tend to get hungrier for milk. My boy is 13 months and still has a 10oz morning bottle and 8 for bed but he mas mighty pea milk because of diary allergy x

Ive transitioned slowly, i do a normal bottled then start with a quart of cow’s milk, then half the next week, then a full bottle of cows milk. Theres no harm in it, if it helps them sleep theres no issue

Cows milk isn’t as filling as formula and doesn’t contain the nutritional value of formula. Bottles of milk are fine but you don’t want to give too much as it won’t be giving baby all the nutrients they need so you don’t want to fill them up on it, food should be their main source of nutrition now. Too much milk/ dairy can make it harder for the body to absorb iron too so something else to bare in mind. A morning and evening bottle is pretty typical though at this age! Could you swap the afternoon one out for a snack or if you’re giving milk don’t give so much yogurt etc to balance things back out x

Thanks everyone!

i was ebf so i switched the midday feedings and kept ebf for morning and night. now we are transitioning to a bottle for night with half almond milk half bm. soon its a whole bottle since shes been taking it very well
