Sweep

I had some with my first and what the Midwives’s said is they will only work if your body is ready to labor otherwise they aren’t proven to do anything, they did nothing with my first unfortunately apart from the same as you and above xx

I had a sweep on Wednesday and had cramping and tightenings for about 6 hours after. I started losing bits of my plug the next day and had my full show Friday morning. I’ve gone in for another sweep today and they’ve popped me on the monitor to see I’m regularly contracting.. hopefully it’s something 🤞

I had a sweep Thursday morning, lost my plug Friday morning, baby was born 20:10 that night 😅

Just an update. Although it didn’t put me into labour I’ve gone from 2cm to 3cm dilated, 50% effaced to 85% effaced and my cervix is soft and stretchy, so I think it helped with cervical change. I am contracting regularly and we’re not sure if it’s early labour or Braxton Hicks but I just had a second sweep!

@Samara how are you getting on? I had my second sweep last Thursday but it didn’t do much for Me Although I don’t know if it was actually a sweep as I wasn’t dilated so she just sort of prodded the cervix but couldn’t get in xx

I was 2cm yesterday when they did the sweep, have had continuous on and off cramping and this morning lost plug/had bloody show! So I’m hoping that’s all the right direction

@Samera I wonder if all the walking and moving helps with the cervix! They were happy with it being favourable when I went in for mine

@Samara that’s all good signs!! Hopefully baby will be making their debut tonight!! How many weeks are you? Xx And yess walking I agree with that, I have tried walking as much as I can but managed to sprain my ankle so need to rest now which has put a spanner on things xx

@Samera oh no! That’s so frustrating! Have you got a yoga/pregnancy ball? I’ve found yoga has really helped I’m 38 weeks! Definitely anxious to see if she will come in the next 24 hours or not! I’d rather natural than IV drip induction if I can help it x

I had a sweep yesterday. Lost a little plug last night and little this morning. No show. No cramps etc. don’t think it’s going to work for me unfortunately
