My baba wriggles throughout the day, mostly during/ after meals. Then if Iām sat down in the afternoon Iāll notice her kicking. But itās the evening when she really goes for itš Iāve been in a few times for reduced movements because that day she just hasnāt moved as much as normal. They said that even if itās too early for her to be in a pattern, if Iām not getting as much movement as normal itās ok to go down to be checked
I canāt really say I ever had any patterns with my first it was kinda of if I didnāt notice feeling after a few hours Iād poke and usually she would move š . Canāt really say there was ever set times. This one has been feeling earlier but I think thatās more down to placenta being in a different place.
Patterns donāt fully form until 3rd trimester or there abouts. At this stage you may have a pattern for a wee bit then itāll change so canāt say itās a consistent pattern. I know I have a very active baby who moves most of the day, only time I donāt really feel him is when Iām walking or just super busy. I do notice though that heās more active at night. He was more active in the mornings but this has changed. Iād just say, if youāve been feeling baby for a while and then suddenly go a day without it then get checked. Or having something cold and really sugary, If baby isnāt moving within an hour or so then phone them. Itās so hard because weāre told patterns donāt form till later so we canāt be concerned later which isnāt correct. I went in early with my first with reduced movement and she started going mental when I got there š sometimes itās just needed for your piece of mind and to get baby moving cause 9 times out of 10 they make you feel silly and start moving there š x
All day even at night š
Iām 22 weeks and have a very active baby , I would say I have noticed certain times or patterns mainly when I eat but some days are quieter. I did ask my midwife about reduced movements on the quieter days I had and she reassured me that at this stage as long as you feel any movement within the day that is fine.
All of the advice says thereās no specific number of movements it is just what feels normal for your baby. I think itās more about trusting your instinct- you will know if it feels like itās been too long without any movement. That said itās still early yet. With my first even in third trimester the only āpatternā I could tell you is he was most active between 9pm and midnight and I never felt movement when I was driving. The movements throughout the day would depend on what I was doing. Iām not sure he particularly moved more after having something sugary but he might have moved more after a big meal. He did move a lot if I had a bath. He was always active enough that I didnāt ever feel concerned about his movements. With this current baby again he is more active in the evening by far and he seems to move around a lot when I read to my toddler but otherwise I canāt work out any other patterns yet.
Iām 24 weeks and she is still random, throughout the day. The only way Iād know to be worried is if I didnāt feel anything for a full day. Although if I rest my hands on my belly or my phone or my laptop etc, she kicks it so hard almost as if itās annoying her so I feel like if I was worried Iād just do that to see a reaction
At the moment, donāt google or focus to much on the ānormalā as everyone is different. Iām 23+5, I feel movement throughout different times of day and evening, no pattern. If you felt movement everyday for a week then had a few days where you didnāt feel anything at all, I would class as reduced movement and would call triage, but if you are feeling baby at different times of day, take that as reassurance, you can feel baby and itās telling you itās okay! š enjoy feeling baby xx
Iām 23 weeks today & notice little man is more active at night especially 3am š“ but Iāve had days where heās more quieter or his kicks arenāt as strong which worries me but I think as long as we are feeling something throughout the day at this stage x
My baby wiggles about when Iām waking up, any time Iām about to eat a meal. She also seemingly gets very active if my husband talks or when Iām playing a video game š All in all, sheās very active!

Iām 23+1 with an anterior low lying placenta and feel nothing still if that makes you feel any better! Apparently it can come between 26-28 weeks so Iām holding on for that
