True self weaning usually doesnât happen until around 3-4 years old, my daughter was nearly 4.
My little girl is now 18 month and Iâve weaned her off me completely. I started by going cold turkey in the day, she was eating three meals a day as well as snacks etc so she didnât need it. I think we fine ourselves giving in as they know how to push our buttons. She never took a bottle which I found difficult as itâs so consuming or a pacifier. I couldnât leave her. I read something somewhere and it said âitâs not forever, itâs a short time not a long timeâ Does your little one have breakfast in the morning? Whole milk?
He is still young to be self weaning! Hang in there youâve got this they are only this small for such a short period of time even though it feels so long right not you will look back and wish it lasted longer!
Heâs too young to self wean. Do you need to stop?
Natural self weaning age is between 2.5-7 years old! My daughter is 20 months and still feeds up to 10 times a day, she hates plant based milk and is allergic to cows, and mines made specially for her anywayđ€·đŒââïž Itâs recommended to breastfeed for at least 2 years+ as itâs still a huge source of nutrition after 1yo
@Robiat I would die! But this is a smart idea but Iâve never left my children lol
@Lisa did you ever just stop nursing to sleep, thatâs really my biggest thing Iâm ready to stop? I donât mind him breastfeeding during the day
@Melissa he doesnât do any milk, Iâve tried them all. He wonât even drink my milk in a cup. I would love to Continue to pump for him but he will not have it lol. But I agree with the quote, we have less issues during the day itâs more of at nighttime he gets super clingy and wants the boob every time he wakes. He doesnât really self soothe well
Self soothing is a myth and not something babies are capable of đ«¶đŒ

I havenât stopped but a friend did recently. One of them, het husband took the boy on a trip for 3-5 days and she didnât go with them, he came back and no more since Second one, started by reducing during the day, then bedtime, then midnight and mornings You go frow his busiest time to the one time he is most fussy, may be bedtime for most
