Reducing supply

Hi beautiful mums Unfortunately my pumping journey needs to come to an end. This is my second baby and we have had one struggle after the other since she was born (4.5 weeks). She had a very tight lip and tongue tie, broke down my nipples straight away, I'm on my 3rd lot of mastitis and 3rd course of antibiotics. The antibiotics have affected my baby's stomach and we can't keep going through this. We had her lip and tongue tie cut this week with the plan to help her recover over the next 4 weeks and then BEGIN learning how to breastfeed. But we were just seeing some improvement in her stomach and digestion issues when I've got more mastitis and more antibiotics needed and we can't do this to her again. I feel like I did everything to make this work as I had to fully formula feed my first baby because of the same issues. You name it I've tried it, and I'm exhausted. I've made the sad decision to stop pumping and bottle feeding breast milk. Can anyone tell me tips and tricks on how to reduce supply? I would normally pump 200mls every 4 hours so I will need to back away slowly I think. Advice welcomed. Maybe not advice about continuing to pump and breastfeed as the decision was difficult enough to make :)

I would definitely not stop cold turkey due to risk of subsequent mastitis. Drop one pumping session at a time and have your flange size properly fitted to reduce the risk. Cold cabbage leaves can work also a tea blend for drying milk

Thank you!
